Ready for the next level!

YES! Change.

THIS IS MY YEAR FOR CHANGE.

Many changes have already occurred but I am continuously evolving and moving on!

Therefore you will notice many new and exciting changes, I am happy and ready for them.

One huge new change that I was, "scared", to make in the past is language. Que? I usually post in English but I want everyone to learn and enjoy therefore from now on some post may be in completely in Spanish or  in both Spanish and English, what we her'in Texas like to call...Spanglish!

Also, I want everyone to know MORE about who I am. I am a Mexican-American Houston born Mom. I will soon have 2 children and am a working Mom. As you all may know, I am a University of Houston graduate and I am very proud to be a COUGAR! Ha. Not that kind of Cougar but rather a U OF H Cooooooooog!!!!!!! Whoooooose Houuuuuuse!??!!?!?!?!?! WHICH BY THE WAY....Despite the fact that we are in HOUSTON, and that this city is inundated with UT fans and colors, my husband (ALSO A U OF H Student) and I found ONE, ONE UH cooler at HEB AND a small section of UH memorabilia at Target. What does that mean? MOVE OVER ORANGE AND WHITE...THE RED AND WHITE will soon take over as it should have years ago! Ok. I'm done. Ha.

I am just ready for new and exciting things to come and I can't wait.

I want my Blog to be an Everyday Blog for Everyday Moms! Nothing fancy just ordinary talk from an ordinary Mom.

Have a great day all!

Oh Baby!

Well next week I will be 20 weeks! Officially half way there! Whooo-hooo! I know, I owe some Ultrasound/Belly pics and let me tell you that BELLY...it's a growin'! I love it. I am starting to really feel movement and I LOVE it. I love listening to the baby's heartbeat at every visit, it makes my heart skip a beat. I fall in love every time a little bit more.... just like with my son!

Some updates:

  • At this point I have been LESS sick than with Santiago.
  • I do have Gestational Diabetes but I have Faith and I listen to my doctor.
  • I am 19 weeks this week...and counting!
  • The last almost 5 months have flown by mostly because this time around I began my pregnancy during an Election Cycle, as opposed to when I had my son I began at the end of the Presidential Election Cycle...it makes a HUGE difference. I have been so busy and will be somewhat busy until almost the end of my pregnancy, which is GREAT! Because then my days fly by!
  • I had LOST yes LOST 5 lbs and up until this weekend ALL of my regular everyday clothes and work clothes fit me but I have since gained yes GAINED 3 lbs of the 5 I had lost and well soon enough I will be loving my maternity clothes again BUT...with my son, I was only about 8 weeks when I had to start wearing maternity clothes..which BTW is expensive!!!
  • Baby is growing good and his or her heartbeat sounds awesome!!!
  • In 7 days we will know....PINK OR BLUE...Violet or Green...Red or Orange! You get my point.
In all, we are getting SO excited..another room remodel will be in the works!!! That's good...little by little we are fixing up our house! That makes me happy....

We will be deciding next week on either a Big Boy Room or a New Nursery..... YAY!

Have a Blessed week!!!

Chaos.

Who me?

Regardless of my usual scatter-brain-ness, some days are just crazy! None like mine I like to think, haha.

So,  yesterday was sheer chaos; without my family and friends to help me through the day, I would have curled up into the fetal position and never gotten back up!

It makes me so Thankful to have the women in my life that are currently in my life, they are always there with kind words of Faith or a slap on the head to get me to move on....BOTH are GREATLY appreciated! When they are not telling me how it is, they are making me laugh and reminding me that life is GREAT! That is also very much appreciated!

Today is Friday.

The weekend is here and I just want to rest and clean my house!

No big plans, just some relaxing.

I guess there is always calm after the storm....

Today; I am 18 weeks pregnant and Santiago is 4 days from being 14 months! I am in love with  my life; being a Wife and now a Mom has made me realize how amazing God has been to me!

I want to post my ultrasound pictures and some belly shots of this growing belly...soon...

~Praise and Worship Wednesdays~

Yes, it's been a while.

Today, I want to discuss; "Choices".

It seems to be the theme.

"You have a choice -
You can either worry or worship.
You can either pray or panic.
The more you pray, the less you'll panic. Relax, because God will take care of you!"
~Purpose Driven Connection by Rick Warren
Choices come in various forms; pink or blue, fries or tots, fish or chicken, sweets or not, divorce or marriage, children or pets, friends or acquaintance....

As you can see CHOICES make up our everyday and in every way!

My biggest choices these days have come in the form of Diabetes; yes Gestational Diabetes.

I should have expected it but I was thinking happy thoughts the last 17 weeks. I suggest you become informed, especially if you are like me and everyone, YES everyone in your Dad's family has it and well you are genetically inclined to have it as well.

My choices is to be aware. Be active. Be pro-active. Be positive. Make GOOD health choices. And move forward!

What are you choices today? Are you taking that leap of Faith and making the Faith-filled choices? Are the choices for you and for your well being?

Today I choose to be happy and do the right thing. Even if that means that the Dr. Pepper and chocolate filled chocolate donut have to wait for me for 5 months! YES 5 more months to go!

No biggie. I have Faith.

Better than a Hallelujah.....

Sometimes...

I hope you have heard this song...because it has been a TRUE Blessing for me...

These days...my bank account is poor but my spirit REFUSES to be quiet!

Yes, I have been in a rut..for MONTHS now....stuck in that same place, with the same issues....about the same people... why? Why? Should I lie down and die...instead of Rejoice and Praise?! I have been down and then I have up...but today..I say..AMEN!

God is sooo good and nothing and no one can change that!

I am now 17 weeks pregnant..in only 2 weeks we find out if our baby is a boy or a girl! And, at  Thanksgiving we will have ONE more itty-bitty tiny person to be Thankful for. Yes, I have been bad at keeping up with my Blog and updating the world about my latest baby bump! But, you know what..it's only because God has made it this way..he knows why and he knows when!

I have so many pictures to share and new ultrasounds to show off, but I have not had time to get them posted...I will.

Life has not been as laid back as I would have wanted the last 4 and half months..but that will only make me and our new baby stronger....and ready for what is to come!

I hope everyone is patiently waiting for us...we are here and when we come back it will be awesome!

Becoming "THAT" Mom I said I never would.....

I have to admit...

  1. My son is a permanent fixation to my hip.....[He cries if I put him down and I love having quick access to those fat cheeks!]
  2. He cries and I want to run....[He's a better baby when he's happy...duh!]
  3. He looks for me and I want to hide.....[Why always the MOM?!]
  4. I don't care to shower on the weekends....[Sorry..it's true!]
  5. My weekdays always start off with...."I'm gonna be late!" [Nuff said]
  6. We doesn't always eat  healthy snacks......[We would love to..but you know how long that takes...]
  7. I haven't had an ounce of exercise, me time, girl time, or Ricardo and I time in over a year.....[But, you know what? I don't care for it..I am sooooo exhausted that I don't care for it.....]
  8. My son doesn't get a shower every night.....[I strive for it..but some nights..just give me a break!]
  9. I don't wash clothes every week.....[I used to wash everyday....]
  10. I hate doing the dishes and the thought of dinner makes me panic.....[Especially the last 3 months]
  11. Work has become a chore...[One that I have to do...or we won't eat.....]
  12. I am 3 months pregnant and my son is 12 months..you do the math.....[Don't get me wrong...I am ecstatic..and after this one...I don't think it will be long before we have our 3rd one...no joke....]
  13. I rarely brush my hair....[You know if you see me on a daily basis..]
  14. I never dress up....[Or care to!]
  15. Makeup? [ I think it's been years..plus I've never really cared for it....]
  16. Pedi/Mani....[Don't make me laugh....]
  17. New clothes and shoes....[Oh you mean these 2 year old Coach shoes my torn jeans and last years maternity shirts are cutting it anymore...hmmmm......GO FIGURE!]
  18. Going out....like to get the mail?.... [no thanks...]
  19. Fun scrapbooking and crafting ideas...[Uhm...one day.....]
  20. This Blog....writing and being creative.... I've let it slip...[That I regret...]

Point is... I knew being a wife was difficult..I knew being a Mom was difficult...I know being a working Mom and wife is difficult..but for some ODD reason...I THOUGHT...THAT I, I of all people could do it...a lot better than I have...I think at MOMENTS...rare ones...I create a great illusion..but the truth is....some days...I can't even breath..much less think...and do....

So, yes...I have great days and an "I can do" attitude..but some days...are sooooo difficult....being everything that I am...and trying to be an employee...a sister....a daughter....a parishioner....a disciplined Catholic/Christian....a "friend"...a whoever or whatever people expect me to be.... I just can't....and some days...I don't care to be.....

Well today I pray...for change.....time...patience....I will do this... I can do this...and becoming "that" Mom will be a thing of the past....

Expecting the unexpected and seeking. [Double Post Today]

If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. —God
Seeking....

I’ve been M.I.A, I feel, for the last 6 days…. Well my son has been very ill the last 6 days…..yes 6 DAYS! Sounds like nothing compared to the suffering of others, I know and trust me I have definitely thought about it a lot… but to a new mommy with a new mommy heart…and maybe even after I am an old mommy with an old mommy heart…. It’s eternal!

Holding my son’s little aching body and in my eyes suffering more than any other child I could of…his poor little nose red and raw from all the wet wipes and Kleenex, his body too hot to touch…and then I thought…wow… what about those mother’s whose children have Cancer, whose children have passed, or those who have never been Blessed with a child of their own. I thought about Mary, I am Catholic, so I thought about Nuestra Virgen Maria, how she KNEW of the suffering her Son would endure. How she watched as her Son suffered even while being innocent. The suffering of our Father, Jesus Christ and of His Mother WILL NEVER compare to that of mine or my son’s. And this viral infection which has taken over my son’s little body is NOTHING compared to the other illnesses that other little boys have and will have to endure. So, I am Thankful, Thankful that my son is 12 months and that in those 12 months he has only suffered 6 days. I pray…I pray that my son, other Mother’s sons, cease to suffer, that WE, as new and old Mommies have patience, NEVER ending Faith, peace of those things and situations that are beyond our understanding.

I know; I may be over exaggerating or the melodrama may be bigger than the real problem, but my son being as sick as he has been has caused me to ache. To think, to constantly pray for him and over him, to repeatedly be Thankful and to never forget who died on that cross and His suffering and His suffering Mother….in my imperfect religion….our Mother Mary.

This has been my seeking the last 6 days…my purpose…to seek Him. To understand what He wants from me in this instance.

I see patience and peace. Thankfulness and humbleness. Love and Faith.

I pray that this is where I am.

Expecting the unexpected…..

One of my constant prayers is to have Women of God in my life…near and far, real or fiction… friends or foes… and in some way God has brought these women into my life over and over and over again…I have learned…not only about them…but more importantly and not selfishly about MYSELF. Who I am…who I should be…and how I don’t want to me…which is all too often like myself…irony… no Heaven sent. God has constantly been knocking me over the head the last year or so…to let go and let Him….and I have constantly disobeyed….for fear of betrayal…not by Him but my man… the hurt is all to familiar and the sting…well it’s lasted and I feel even jaded….but again..I seek Him with FAITH and yes…WHOLEHEARTEDLY….every day… I know some days I fail…miserably….but some days…. Wow. What HE can do for us…that NEVER fails me.

I am ready…letting go and trusting Him.

This may sound like gibberish to most but for me…it’s as clear as these past 6 days have been….

I am done feeling miserable and as if man has failed me…man was made to fail..it is with God’s Grace that we can walk everyday…and that is where I am…humbling myself more than I want to and moving forward… with God and His Grace in my heart…praying that this new Change….this new me…will not only reap Glory and Victory but that I can and  will inspire and motivate.

I know to many it may sound like the same old song and dance… so cliché and tired...but to me..it's life...I get knocked down..and I just have to get up again....that's the way the story goes....

What better way than to bring new life into this world as well as to create a new life for myself!

Be Blessed.

Here we go...AGAIN!

How are you and where have you been?

Have been the two most common questions the last couple of weeks.

Well A LOT has happened since our little “Blog-cation”. Santiago and I left seeking to come back with Papa Bear. And well. We came back as a beautifully Blessed little family of 3. And, as most of you know our world is once more about to change.

We have been very busy since we returned “rested” and “ready” for the new season in our lives. My husband had been patiently awaiting school to begin once more and a job to call him about a new assignment. He has since started school and now work. He is no longer at home, caring for our little Chunk. Our little Chunk is off on his own little adventures now....

You can only imagine the new on-slew of adventures, exploring and discoveries Santiago has made. From making mommy die of laughter and “awww” at the cuteness to giving mommy a little too much to do and lots of mess to clean up… BUT EH. Boys will be boys!

And there is nothing I can do but love, clean and love some more.

So, why are our lives about to change, again?

Well, story of my life, as soon as I had decided to finally “start a diet and exercise regimen” (Bwahahahaaaaaa!) my waist line will once more be expanding! We didn’t expect to be parents again so soon, but a new Blessing is VERY MUCH WELCOMED. We were ecstatic to see the word “PREGNANT” light up our EPT. For some odd reason the surprise was much bigger this time and emotions have been running high.

As you can imagine.

That’s probably called the “surprise” factor, we loved it. When we found out about Santiago, regardless of how “unplanned” it was, it was expected. This time, NOT expected BUT WELCOMED JUST AS MUCH!

As we told family and friends, Ricardo joked that the only one still unaware of what was going on was Santi. But, all his whining and fussing lately makes me think otherwise (call it an “old wives” tale) but I think he feels the presence of a new little someone.

While the hours will grow longer and the days will seem eternal we are happy to be a Mommy and Daddy of TWO (Dos)! I pray that our new Blessing will be strong, healthy and happy just like my Santi. Boy or Girl. He or she will be welcomed with warm loving arms. I wish for a pretty little girl to add some spice to our already chaotic mix but only God knows. And, at week 20 plus you better believe that I will be scheduling my gender ultrasound. Ha.

No matter what the next 28 weeks or so, brings me I will and have embraced it as always……
With Faith and Love. Patience and Humility.

This time around will be different for sure. I will know what to expect. Being that it’s so soon after my Santi, I will more than likely having a C-Section. I pray that this time around, I don’t freak out and that I don’t have any type of anesthesia reactions. I am glad that we have an already preset birth plan and that more than likely my due date will be scheduled. I hate waiting. I am horrible at being patient. And, I just love knowing that a new little baby will join us soon.

Our first doctors visit was yesterday...I am 12 weeks and baby looks perfectly well.

Thank you everyone for all the well wishes, Blessings, and Congrats!

We are ecstatic and can’t wait to share what the next 6 months, or so, will bring us!
