Why Hello There! Hola!

I know. It's been a while. I turned 32 while I was away and this past weekend we baptized my daughter. So, yes I have been a little busy.

baptism 2013

Life is good. Turning 32 made me realize how much I have changed. How much my 30s are making me into who I really am. Not really carefree but a little more free of cares that I had when I was in my 20s. I now realize how much I cared about what others thought, how much I worried about whether or not people liked me, how much I cared about anything really. Not that I don't care anymore just that those type of things about  life I don't have time for because I chase a 3 year old and 2 year old around all day which consume my life and I love that!

I don't want to have to worry about those things happening around me. I know that a lot of it affects my everyday and my family but at the end of the day if my kids and my Hubby are taken care of, then I have done my job for that day and that is what I care about the most.

I take it one day at a time and I take in those small things in life that will one day disappear. I want to make my 30s the years that created the best part of my life. I believe that by eliminating unnecessary, I will accomplish that. Life is difficult enough with the necessary if I crowd it with too much of the  {for lack of a better word} "blah", I loose sight of what is really important.

These days I plan to enjoy my life, my family, and move forward. Less clutter and more simple. Having fun and being "young". One day it will all be over and if I spent my life stuck or dwelling on things, situations or people who are not allowing me to be me and relax, then I think my life will have been horribly spent.

My life as a 30-something year old should be....Simple. Happy. Care free. Kinda. Trust me. I am not saying that I will some how avoid challenges or difficulties. No. I know life is hard and we must deal with it. But, I am saying that I refuse to allow the unnecessary to crowd me.

I have done so much in my 20s and I think others don't know that about me or forget. But, I have. College life, Dating life, Marriage, Married life, Life itself and all it's turmoils in-between...I wanted to have children in my late 20s early 30s for a reason. I enjoyed my life before them and now I cherish my life with them. I refuse to allow the unnecessary things to crowd my vision of a happy and enjoyable next 8 years, until I enter the next decade of my life.

Life is life. It's what you make of it. I have made it what it is and it has taken me over 15 years to get here... and trust me. This is only the beginning.

Happy Monday everyone!

{Blah-ness & a Girls Lunch} ♥

I don't ever want my Blog to be overwhelming or forced...it's never been my intention to just write....whether my purpose was to learn to write or share my everyday life it was never intended to be fake or meaningless and without purpose....with that said.

This week I went through a bit of a BLAH moment. I am sure you have had those weeks. Where you just don't want to do, be, or write. I have them and I take advantage of them to think, to recollect, to regroup, and to just be. The weather in Houston has been "icky" for lack of a better word. This week we had kind of a gloomy start with clouds, rain and a blueish silver tone to the sky. No? Maybe it was just me. When the weather is "blue", I get BLAH. It's not fun. "Blame it on the rain...."{no pun intended. Haha.}

I am sure I have written about my down moments in the past and really I don't think it's a bad thing. I think a little break and a melodramatic meltdown are in order to write heartfelt and genuine posts!

I think....

Needless to say. This week was really exciting and definitely a productive one! {But, Now I have some Blogging to catch up...don't be surprised if I double up on post this weekend!}

Not only did I finish putting my Christmas tree up but I finished washing laundry...does anyone want to come over and fold it and put it away for me? Hahaha. {BTW. I am adding some Ha's as opposed to my regular. Ha. Because apparently my Hubby has been reading my Blog and he doesn't like the way my ONE Ha. READS. Critics, I tell ya'....Ha. Ha.}

By Thursday I had done so much that I took on a little extra "task" which I will write about in another post..just because the topic is very near and dear to my heart. And, this morning I thought a girls lunch would be a nice treat! So, I headed out to Northside Houston, to meet up with some good friends that I used to work with... I have only been gone from work for about 2 months and it feels like forever!!! We went to one of our favorite places....Teotihuacan. We had an awesome time and the food was YUMMA!!

My friend Pam, gave my Cami and my friend Christina's daughter Celeste some SOAP. It's not just any soap and as soon as I have the information I will totally give it to you. Because not only are they super cute soaps, they smell good and are made from the best products. I can't wait to get more information. Pam's Son and Daughter-in-Law make them...I thought it was a very thoughtful and creative gift! The girls loved it.  I have some pretty amazing friends!!!

And, now since I figured Flickr out...some pictures! Yay!

{Irrelevance} ♥

Yesterday I woke up, got the kids ready for their day at Ma'Ma's and then shoveled myself out the door onto the door step of a fresh NEW day.{Or so I thought...}

It wasn't even 9 am before I had a load dumped on my chest. Irrelevance. When it tugs it pulls. At those ever so flexible and delicate Momma heart strings. It shook me to my core and had me yelling for peace. So, I sat and I prayed...with no words and no thoughts. I have never felt so irrelevant as I have in the last oh 4 years...  and it's not about my ever so amazing Momma job but about my worldly job. I think the last 4 years have been the most difficult. Transformation I am guessing. Life changes. I used to LOVE change, it used to be my middle name. Then came my children and I hid from change...ironic, I know. Not like it's a bad thing but just "what if" it's too difficult to juggle what will all my Momma duties, the world can wait...can't it?

The morning went on and I just had lots rumbling in this little overwhelmed heart of mine. Frustration set in. A bit. Didn't really know what to pray for, who to pray for, and thinking "God, what do you want me to learn from this, take from this, and grow from this? It's so unclear to me right now." The thoughts kept coming; "Dear God, What am I doing wrong? Where should I go from here?"

Prayer was in order, but I didn't even know what to pray for anymore....

The day, I knew, would be about BLAH-NESS but more so about the enemy working feverishly away at every un-salvageable piece of my concerned and weary heart. TRYING to wear me down.....

The feelings of irrelevance come and go. Good and bad. It's a constant war. But, little does the enemy know...this battle... It's already won... and the darkness may insist on taking over me but the light just SHINES too bright, right into my life.

Then God whispers..."you are NOT alone"...here are a few amazing women who will help open your heart, your eyes and your mind...and "poof"...perspective is changed and life is once more on track! Amen? Oh yes. Amen.

I am not sure if anyone needed to hear this today but me, I needed to experience it.

Everyone has bad days. We just need to know how to allow God in and flip them back around....
