Just when I think I will be rid of all tantrums and meltdowns I am awakened by reality..her name Dr. S, the kid's Pedi.
I walked into Santi's 3 year check-up hopeful and ready to hear those words... "he's out growing it...." and instead I hear... "well the 3's are worse than the 2's, you know?" NO. I don't know. But, I do now. With a Super-terrible 3 year old and an almost terrible 2 year old, this Momma knows...it's gonna be pretty terrible. I am too old for this... NO really at 31, I don't think I ever imagined my children to be this difficult, so complex, so melty-down as they are or as dramatic as they are! Drama is their middle name. I guess they do truly belong in this family. Ha. Or they do get it from their Momma! Ha.
The cure? Consistency, structure and patience. I am sure.
The Momma? Terrified. {Full melt-down mode! Ha.}
Now that I am home, I need to work on all 3 disciplines. So, every time Santi or Cami have a meltdown..I stop, collaborate and listen...no really! It's the best thing to do. Attention. Undivided on my part, not so much as to egg on the bad behavior but as to hear them out and see whether or not their tantrum is "reasonable & rational" {Ha, a reasonable and rational tantrum}...If it's a no-reason tantrum..then it's either nap time or going outside and running like a nut until you are super tired and Momma can get a break time... Trust me I always thought I would be the let me pop you right now kinda Momma and instead I am this...the I am too old for this...cry it out and we'll talk later Momma!
Just sayin'... it's all it takes sometimes! Time.
Easy? CLARO QUE NO! Never. Yes, easier written on this Blog here than followed thru with at home while trying to cook, clean, blog, craft and rest... I insist that I need a Nanny and a Personal Assistant..but my Husband insist that I need to get a life and be real... I can deal with that! Ha.
In the meantime...practice and patience makes for a better Momma!
The two little faces deserve it... they are tiny humans with real feelings after all....

{15 Months} CamBam! ♥
It's been 15 months of my amazing little Cami!!!
She has several nicknames to her brother she is "Nena", to her Daddy she is "Migis", to me she is "Camila Isabel!".... to the rest of our family she is anything from Cami to CamBam, Cam Noodles, and Mila...
All I know is that what ever name sticks with her for the rest of her life it will never be enough to express the joy and sunshine that she is in our lives!
Her tiny spicy personality has begun to explode as she fights her brother in the infamous battles of the ever so terrible two's and the "mine" complex!
She is spunky and happy!
She Loves food and doesn't mind sharing that beautiful God given smile!
All her little Piranha teeth are perfectly crooked in every way.
She is warm and loving a true little Momma.
She is bright and fun.
All. the. time.
Her soft little hands melt my heart and her tiny stinky feet melt my sense of smell. Ha.
Camila has been an amazing little "Surprise" Blessing.
In 2010 I had no thoughts of getting pregnant again so soon and when it happened...
I felt like it was just meant to be.
This day.
I know it was more than meant to be it was God given.
I finally have a mini-me, so full of life and pretty in pink.
She dances and sings to any tune and is so easy going she rarely complains...
She carries a purse and has pink toes, God knew exactly who this family needed to give that perfect balance to this sweet sweet chaos.
Don't get me wrong...life is not all roses and peace...we have our ups and downs but knowing that God has Blessed us with such a beautiful little "Migis" just makes it all worth while!
We cry, we laugh, we share, we fight, but through it all we have Sunshine...she is a little Sister and she is a Lil'Momma; My Cami is a beautiful Angel on earth given to me even without me deserving such a beautiful Blessing...
"She is the Dos in His equation of pure Love and Faith melted into one home."
She is another member of Team Gomez and a second prayer answered from up above....
She is 15 month old CamBam!!!

{Update Ya' Monday!}
Don't mind if I do!!!
I had a really rough weekend..my Hubby is in transition from his OLD job to a HOPEFUL and awesome new career!!! SO, he is working. Lots. I dealt the whole weekend without him, no bueno... I know, I can be a little spoiled.
I was already stressed thinking about our Monday and the kids starting DAYCARE!!!! Yes, I know that word sends chills up my spine....BUT we have to trust not only in God that the kids will be ok but in people that they will care for them as if they were their own!
Until now I have been ever so Blessed and my Mother-in-law watches my DOS for me while the Hubby and I head to work every day... but guess what...she needs a little break too, so she went on vacation and it was a PERFECT opportunity for us to explore the world beyond...that and Santi had a Speech evaluation where it was suggested that he should start a Pre-K 3 program , so everything kinda really just fell into perfect place..like always!
Plus, this daycare is Christian based! They have Bible study hour which was my MOST favorite part of it all!
After the morning meltdowns on all parts, yes..this Momma and the Daddy had issues with leaving the kids this morning... everyone had tears in their eyes...every.one. Ha. But, I think the day will get better, I checked on them and aside from Santi fighting the teacher on his diaper change, I think we are a GO! Makes this Momma heart happy and excited! My Cambam was doing awesome...as we thought she would...Santi is a stubborn lil'man and not one to like change very much.. I know he will be ok, it will just take a few days...weeks..or months... ha.
Oh yes! MY BLOG BUTTON/AD IS BEING RUN ON THE MOMMY MADE BLOG FOR THE MONTH OF JULY!!!!! Excited!!!!
This will be a GREAT week I can feel it!!!!!

{Anticipation} ♥
It's what killed the cat right? Or was it procrastination? Who knows.
Ha.
We have a couple of things coming up in 2012! {Big YEAR. I can feel it.}
First off...Cami Bell {Camila Isabel} turns the big HUGE UNO...Siiii. En Marzo.Y vamos a tener una FIESTA.... literally.
Here is a little sneak peek:
Then there is {May}! I think May will have it's own breed of special posts. Filled with so much PRAISE to God and Thanks-giving! May. May 2012. Class of 2012. It will all have such a deep meaning. The month. The year. {Tears fill my eyes as I type this.}
When we look back on May of 2012 we will be able to tell our children; that was the year your Daddy graduated college! After much sacrifice and hard work. For himself, for us, for you. He finished college. Some people may not see it as a big deal. I say. IT'S A HUGE DEAL. I am more than proud of my Hubby and his accomplishments. When we set out to create our own little family we knew that getting an education would be a number one priority.
Now that day could just be right around the corner. It doesn't become "official" until about the 24th of this month, but we can't wait to find out! {Holding my breath..until then. Not literally.}
{Mini Post-Within a Post?}
I realized that some days I have ONE word post. Because, I guess that's all it takes. One word. And, other days my titles are long. Long. Because some days need more words than others. Just a thought. Ha.
It's Sunday. Tomorrow Monday. Ahii. Here we go again.

{9 Months Cami} ♥
On Christmas Day my Cami turned 9 months.
{Yes, this post is 7 days late but that doesn't matter I have to do it.}
Camila Isabel {9 Months}
My Cami is....
Love
Girly
Tough
Patience
Smiles
FAITH
HOPE
Sunshine
Laughter
Sweetness
Peace
Softness
Squeezable
Hug-able
Kissable
a Blessing
Our Cami is an amazing little fireball made of sugar and spice with a hint of cinnamon, no really she loves syrup and is sticky..lots. Ha. She is definitely my little sidekick she wakes up early with me, with a HUGE smile on her face, ready to start our day. She sits patiently as I click away on the keyboard and eats her breakfast as if she knows not to make noise for the boys. She is my beautiful little lady who loves playing dress up and doesn't mind Momma's camera in her face. She is the new love in our lives... Santi, Ricardo and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect fit to this little family of FOUR! Making me the happiest most Blessed Momma of Dos ever. Camila, you will learn that your brother pushes you, punches you and LOVES you all at once. Your Daddy melts every.single.time he sees you. He will cry the day he walks you down the aisle. I am so Blessed to know what it's like to have a daughter. You are Blessed to be a part of this family. We are NOT perfect. We are Loud. But we LOVE one another more than life! Don't forget that when people fail you...God will NEVER leave your side. Lean on His words, His grace and His power all the days of your life and you can never go wrong. Being a girl is tough, we must stick together, grow up fast, learn everything at once and do it all in under 20 seconds, if you have patience life will treat you well, be slow to anger and even slower to respond to anything spoken against you. God knows your heart and with that your heart will be complete. Know that we love you so much and that you are the BEST person to have come into our lives in 2011. We can't wait for the days to come....
You will be ONE in 3 short months... I can't believe that!

Camila {6 MONTHS!} ♥
6 months ago; life
was different.
Just as we were adjusting to sleeping all night and whole
milk, we are Blessed to be there again….
A beautiful little Angel fell from the sky and into our
arms.
Her name.
Camila Isabel.
Her grace, abundant.
The love, showered.
My heart once more filled.
My Husband once more on his knees, to pray, to Thank, to
Bless, to praise, worship and Love.
For God has been so good to us, it’s unimaginable.
I can’t remember life as 3…we are now 4.
I can’t imagine life without her.
Now a Momma of Dos.
Dos veces
Blessed.
Dos veces,
AMOR!
Today we live, we cry, we praise, we Love.
Camila has been more than a true dream come true…she’s been
our little Angel to help fill the empty spaces in our home, her grandma smiles fill
those empty places in our hearts and her girly giggle fills everyone with joy!
I have been here before once.
It’s the story of an amazing 6 month old who is not just a
ray of sunlight and Blessing from the sky..but a true BUNDLE OF HAPPINESS.
She is a little circle of babble and love…
My Cami came into our lives 6 months ago…and it’s like we’ve
known her and had her in our arms our whole lives.
Nothing should ever be different.
Blessings are so beautiful and we are more than
Thankful!
Santi has a sister, Ricardo and I have a daughter and life
has one more sweet little girl to embrace! .
I pray over her every night.
I pray that her life be filled with happiness throughout.
That even if she suffers she knows that God is has her heart
in His hands.
Her life will be a great one….
We love her.
Her brother marvels at her…
Her father falls in love more and more every day….
Me, I was already in love, she has been in my heart all my
life.
Now, she is in our lives and we couldn’t ask for anything
MORE!
Blessed.
Today more than ever....

{Thankful Thursdays} LINK UP!
It's a little late but here I go....
This week I am most Thankful for:
My Momma's of Faith {They are 3 GREAT friends that I have made and met ONLINE. Yes. ONLINE. But, we are great friends together and to each other. We had dinner this week and it was AMAZING. We ate, we talked, we laughed and have that one great FRIEND day for the week! It totally rocked my socks!}
Pizza {Without it, I wouldn't have been sitting on the couch, gazing into my ALMOST TWO YEAR OLD'S most Beautiful, Big Dark Brown eyes as I wiped tomato sauce off his mouth and chin and cheeks.... He is perfect....}
Mornings { I am in deed a MORNING person. I love it. I love the sun. When it's up and out so am I! I love it. Did I say that already? My favorite time these days is saying Good Morning to my new little ray of light, MY CAMBAM. She is ALSO a morning person! She SMILES from ear to ear as I say "Good Mornin'Mama!" That more than makes my day!!}
Finally....
Dress shoes and Socks on the living room floor { It reminds me that I have a soul mate in my home, that the Lord has given my home a provider. It reminds me that my Husband has a stable job that he went to that day. It reminds me that I am a Wife and that I fell in love with THAT man....}
That's all.
{Great Thursday to Everyone!}

30, Now what?

{Blessed @ 30}
It was 30 years ago today that God allowed me to live.
I was born at about 28 weeks gestation, a 2lbs 15 oz preemie in Brenham, Texas. It was then that God gave me{and my Mom} a second chance.
I Thank God because He has allowed me to.... be here on this earth; to grow and gain spiritually, to graduate college in 2005 at the age of 24, to Marry my long time sweet-heart in 2006 at the age of 25, to have my most amazing Blessings, my children, Santi in 2009 {at 28}& Cami in 2011{at almost 30}. To have beautiful friends in my life. To share my life with my Husband, my Santi and my Cami and with my Mom and Dad, Brothers {Max and Belon} and Sister {Moe..I mean Jess} and my beautiful nephew Olin. To give me a GREAT extended family!
I Thank God for all the good and bad in my life, I have learned and grown from it all. No matter how bad, I've moved on. And, with the amazing moments... I've moved up!
I Thank Him and Praise Him...for it ALL.
Thank You to everyone in my life; now, in the past and in the future!
{I am sure you are probably glad the lists are over, HA! ONE of my MOST amazing Best Friends sent me THE besttttttt EVERRRRRR 30's list, AGAIN THANK YOU YVONNE!!!!!!!}

To find my "NITCH"....or Not?
As you all may remember I was on maternity leave not too long ago....a week ago to be exact...
During those 8 weeks, I was able to have a dream come true, although short-lived, it was much needed and definitely appreciated and taken advantage of!
I was indeed a STAY-AT-HOME MOMMA (or SAHM)! And, was totally rocking at it, if I may say so myself! (Toot-toot, Ha. Ha.)
Then....as I mentioned before...
Life tends to happen and my little hot pink fluffy magic rug was pulled from under my big hope-filled feet (yes, my feet have hopes too! ha.) ...and I totally missed the pillow (meaning my feelings hit the pavement)...Eeeeek.
During those 8 weeks, I developed and almost fully mastered....being a Crafty Momma...and you know what? I loved it.
I was creating, and following through with my endless possibilities. I loved it.
But, I know there are plans that I can make..but they are not for me to control. {Trust me, this is NOT a complaint post....trust me.}
Well during my first week back at work, I remembered that place I had been in not too long ago.
A place where I dreamed of being a corporate Momma with an outside the home job and pant suits [ YES, PANT SUITS! If I had that kind of fun, lunch meeting, corporate type job and the money to buy me some cute pant suits! {Ha.}] None the less, I was there. That place where I didn't mind being that 9 to 5 Mom that works and runs home to be a Mom and Wife to a busy afternoon family.
Then, those 8 weeks came, and for a short time, everything was perfect. I was THAT Momma in that OTHER place, that hides deep in the back of my silly little heart....the Full-Time, Stay-at-Home-Momma, with the fun and lovable and most adorable children, who cleans, cooks, reads, watches "The Talk" at 1pm and Oprah at 4pm [before she decided to leave TV!].
AND YES...WHO CREATES....
Who shines at being a MOM!
Who LOVES being a WIFE.
That Mom that after 8 weeks of chaos thinks, yes...let me take on just a bit more....I don't have an outside the home job..I think I can handle it.
But, then.... THIS place comes back. The place where responsibility reigns, and food needs to be put on the table, where I want to take my kids to the zoo, museum, and circus without having to really deal with a budget. This place where I have to wake up, get dressed, pull my kids out of bed and get them ready for another set of arms to hold, to love and to care for.
It's hard. I yearn. I hurt. I envy. I cry. I think...no one knows my pain....
And, after the pain subdues..I search...for THAT place again.
That's where I am...
Seeking...
{My heart hurts at the thought of my children not being around me all day.... ::deep sigh::}
But, I know.
That THIS place...has a purpose...a reason... a season...a time...

What day is today?!
I was thinking I would work on several things {projects} this weekend.....
But, it's my first week back at work after 7 & a half weeks away AND exhaustion is an understatement!
Our sleep and wake schedules are totally skewed, I feel like I am walking in and out of a revolving door and I feel out of place and just plain out...OUT OF IT! {Ha.}
I know, this is doable..I know I can get through this week..the real question is..When will I ever sleep again?!
My 8 week old and my 20 month old tag team each other, when one wakes the other one sleeps, when one cries the other other YELLS, when one poops the other one spits up; I think they enjoying seeing my head spin off my shoulders and my flushed face fill with panic! {HA.} They've seem to got the whole "let's deprive our mom of sleep and show her how much can come out of every orifice of our bodies" routine down... more than well!
{Trust me. I am BEYOND Blessed to have two VERY healthy, active and vivacious children....but when you get to where I am....exhaustion over powers and you just have to say it! }
So, I am not sure just yet...but I think my weekend is looking more like a big soft bed, with fluffy pillows and lots of wide open mouth straight up snoring! {Ha.} My vision of this weekend is more like a Comfort Inn than lets go out and be active weekend!
Have I mentioned how tired I am? {Ha. ha. ha.}
And I can't remember when my last real warm sit down meal was....
This week so far is a blur....
{I am totally about laughing at my situation, but right now my laugh is accompanied by tears...just a bit...you know that kind of laugh/cry thing when you don't know really how you feel...sad, tired, happy.... CRAZY AND DETATCHED!} {Ha. ha. ha.}
Honestly...I hope you see this post as humurous..
I love my kids....I ADORE being a Momma....I LOVE being a Wife...I love being a part of my families income and having an outside the home job {for now}...but every once in a while..I like to make light of my siutation and am a bit sarcastic...I hope everyone gets that.... Ha.
It's part of who I am....
But, it's my first week back at work after 7 & a half weeks away AND exhaustion is an understatement!
Our sleep and wake schedules are totally skewed, I feel like I am walking in and out of a revolving door and I feel out of place and just plain out...OUT OF IT! {Ha.}
{Trust me. I am BEYOND Blessed to have two VERY healthy, active and vivacious children....but when you get to where I am....exhaustion over powers and you just have to say it! }
So, I am not sure just yet...but I think my weekend is looking more like a big soft bed, with fluffy pillows and lots of wide open mouth straight up snoring! {Ha.} My vision of this weekend is more like a Comfort Inn than lets go out and be active weekend!
Have I mentioned how tired I am? {Ha. ha. ha.}
And I can't remember when my last real warm sit down meal was....
This week so far is a blur....
{I am totally about laughing at my situation, but right now my laugh is accompanied by tears...just a bit...you know that kind of laugh/cry thing when you don't know really how you feel...sad, tired, happy.... CRAZY AND DETATCHED!} {Ha. ha. ha.}

Momma of Dos.
My life has not been the same the last 29 months.
I've had DOS {2} children.
Been pregnant for 16 of the 29 months.
I have a 20 month old and a 7 week old.
Emotions sometimes run high and other times run low.
My FAITH has grown.
Patience has been built, as I imagine it is only the beginning. Because in case you haven't done the math I will have a 13 and 14 year old on my hands, although I hear the tween-age years are not much easier.
We will also have a 19 year old and an 18 year old, meaning...they will hopefully, be attending college one after the other....
Scary. Sure. Worried. Not really. I know God has brought us this far and if my children { I pray that with our example of being college graduates that they will follow BUT I hear THAT is not always the case} decide to go to school, then at the time God will have allowed us to prepare and build up some nice college funds.
The last 29 months have been a culmination to the last 12 years and ONLY the beginning to the next 12 years and MORE.
In the last 12 years I have graduated college, bought a home, got married, and had children..my husband will have finished school and life will ONLY now begin. {Contrary to what I thought 12 years ago at 18 when I graduated High School....I thought that at 18 my life had only just begun....HA! HUGE HA!!! It was the same at 25...maybe in 5 years I will be saying that at 35 my life has just begun....} Why? Well we have reached some of our most important goals and accomplishments {FAITH, FAMILY, EDUCATION, AND STABILITY; all I think are constantly being built and maintained} and we also now have 2 lives to guide, to Love, to help fill with goals and accomplishments of their own, to be responsible for, to care for and protect.
I feel like this is God's way of telling us...remember that this life has never been about YOU. That was your selfish stage...you are now in the REAL and TRUE stage of your life... NEW LIFE through your children.
Last night we went out for a friends birthday. We were the only young couple of the 4 couples there that has children. They were surprised at the age difference. 18 months. There were questions about how "planned" it all was...it wasn't. I don't worry about it. There were thoughts of a THIRD child...yes...already...but I pray not now. Can I handle the DOS children that I have. Yes. Pretty well actually. Better than I thought I could. And, I heard it gets easier with time. I am sure it does. Can I handle Numero Tres, hmmm. Definitely not right now.
Questions of who watches my children came up. Can we afford daycare? Who can? It's ridiculous. But, when you think about it...they are watching your children. And you do get what you pay for. So, I don't think it matters as long as my children are well taken care of and safe.
In all how does it feel to be a Momma of Dos and where will I go from here?
My children are the biggest Blessing in our lives {my Hubby and I}. My biggest accomplishment. The one goal that I have reached that I will EVER care about! And it's amazing to be Loved, Kissed and Held {not only by God} but by my Dos little angels! They are my everything. NOTHING ELSE MATTERS!!!!!!

Camila ♥ Month ONE {Yes already}
Emotions:
Depending on the day, I will tell you that, it's either AMAZING...or really realllllly difficult. I've had a much closer tab this time around on my emotional state than when I had Santiago.
Some days are GREAT filled with amazing Blessed moments. And others, I want to sit and cry and feel like a total failure as Mother.
I will say that having TWO children is just beyond my expectations and beyond the Blessings I thought I would have by the age of 30!
Camila is a sweet and gentle contrast to our Super Boy Santi. She is definitely all that we will need to balance out this almost all boy home.
Recovery has been tough, but with her in my arms day in and day out...all I can say is Thank You God and this life is so worth it!
Having another human being as my most loved responsibility, sounds scary and overwhelming, it can be, but to know that God has entrusted ME to watch over 2 of his little Angels, just blows my mind! I am reminded again that this selfish life that I once led is NO longer about me! It hasn't been for almost 2 years now. I can't even remember my selfish and self-centered stubborn ways, who has time to be so into themselves, I think this now. That's what having a child does to us, it's a constant reminder of maturity and how we used to be.
They say that having a baby changes EVERYTHING. If you don't have children of your own, you have no idea {trust me, I know}, and when you do, you will remember me. If you do have children, then you know exactly what I am talking about!
The responsibility. The Love. The commitment. The sleep-less nights. The Faith. The smiles. The hugs. The tiny beating hearts. The Blessing. The hope.
It's all God given.
I do complain. I am human. Again some days ARE REALLY DIFFICULT. But, that is just life in general. I wouldn't change any of my God given Blessings for the world. My husband, my children, their health, our love, our faith, our family, our friends, and the fact that we can share it all.
Camila came unexpected yet so expected. She has truly completed our little family of 4. She has Blessed us in so many ways. She is a Blessing. And, we can't stop Thanking God for her and for Santiago. They are who we have waited for our whole lives to love. Thank You Jesus. You are good.
Highlights:
Hmmmm....where to start?
Camila is Camila.
- She is very strong.
- She is very loud!

- She has definitely established ownership over her Momma.
- She is growing very fast.
- She is resting and gaining energy to keep up with her brother!
- She is a night owl.
- She loves to be held.

Discoveries:
- I think by now she has discovered that older brothers can be mean..but they love sooo much! {Santi has slapped her 3 times...but after 3 time outs..he's is doing sooo much better!}
- I think she knows that her Daddy can't let her cry...so she cries extra loud when he is around.
- I think she's discovered that when you sleep no one bothers you....HA.
- She is just getting to know the world around her but I know the next month will literally be an eye opener for her!
Momma Challenges:
- Recovering from my C-section.
- Coping emotionally with not being able to be around my son for about a week or so.
- Coping with having to take care of TWO children; one who is SUPER active and the other who is completely dependent right now.
- Recovering from my C-section...did I mention that..I am still NOT fully recovered..but praying EVERYDAY for healing.
- Dealing with minimal sleep.
- Returning to horrible sleep patterns.
- Having to take care of TWO children almost completely on my own after only a week and half of having had my C-section. {My husband wasn't working or in school when Santi was born..which was a HUGE help}

Camila Isabel's Journey {Cont.} ♥
Continued from Camila's Journey Part 1....
After I left the operating room, it's a bit of blur. I was heavily sedated and groggy.
After I left the operating room, it's a bit of blur. I was heavily sedated and groggy.
All I know is that I waited in the room alone for a couple of minutes and then the nurse, my husband, my mom and Camila all entered at once.
God.
Faith.
Family.
Blessings.
Joy.
Love.
Patience.
They all brought me here. To this moment. Of being a Mom. Of having children. Of having a son and now a DAUGHTER.
I saw her little round face once more and truly, nothing else matters. The pain. Worth it. The wait. Worth it. The chaos. Totally worth it.
I am now responsible for two tiny people, who lived in my womb for 9 months and were formed from within with His Love, His Grace, and our Faith. We knew that we wanted children. That we wanted a family. And now here we are. About to hold on to that life once more.
The nurses first question; are you going to breastfeed? Despite all the pain, I quickly replied, YES! I wanted to hold and see her. I wanted to start loving her and showing her that I am here for her. No matter what. The way my mom has been here for me.
It's all happiness and love.
It was a long ride and, in the end a somewhat quick journey. But, she was finally here! Camila had arrived and nothing was going to stop her entrance into our lives. And, we are more than overjoyed with her here.
The next 24 hours we had visitors and nurses come in and out of the room like they owned the place, Ha. But the most important visitor and moment came when Santiago came to meet his new baby sister...CAMILA ISABEL!
It was exactly like I expected. He was ALL smiles, ear to ear. He was giddy and nervous. He knew this little someone had come to join us and he was happy and excited. Kissing her and giggling. He couldn't contain the emotions. Granted the jealousy and uncertainty that came days later was not fun but I know that deep down inside he knows of this new connection in his life. Someone who he will Love, and who will Love him, someone who he will protect and will protect him, someone who is like him and from the same place as him...my heart!
I love my children.
I love having them in my life at this very moment. It has taken A LOT for us all to get here but we are finally here, together. Meant to be. In love. With Faith. Blessed.
Happy.
Camila entering our lives has been amazing. I hope that she will find us as wonderful as we think she is.
I know my past post were pain-filled and even bitter. But, it's all truth. Reality. I don't sugar coat and I want my children to know that yes I suffered, A LOT but that I wouldn't change it for the world. AND, I WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN, FOR THEM!
That is life.
Pain.
Difficult.
And REAL.
All we can do is pray and move forward.
AND HERE SHE IS.....

Camila Isabel's Journey ♥
Today is day 12!
Yes, Camila Isabel, as we decided on, has been in our arms for 12 days now!
Meaning that my adventure as a "Momma of Dos" has officially begun! If it wasn't "official" already...ha. It's been... a journey....one that at this point...I wouldn't change for the world...
As usual my children do not wait FOR ANYONE! (Kinda like their parents....)
Camila was SUPPOSE to arrive last week, March 30th,only 2 weeks early, via scheduled c-Section. Now let me clarify. I have Gestational Diabetes and my children will never be able to wait the usual 40 weeks or until their "due date" they have their own "due date". I tend to be very much in the know about what my body and more importantly what my children want. Therefore, Camila came into this world 3 weeks "early", or before her "due date".
Now, her arrival, was not "as" prolonged or "painful" as Santiago's where being that he was my first child my doctor decided to induce my labor to attempt a "natural labor"; which as you may know was FAR from natural from the beginning due to so many complications. Which looking back now, I think came to be because of my nerves as a first timer!
Camila's journey begins on a Thursday morning {March 10th}, at my 35 week fetal/maternal monitoring and ultrasound, which as of my 30th week I was receiving on a weekly basis. Again, let me clarify, because of my Gestational Diabetes (or HIGH BLOOD SUGAR levels) I was monitored during my last 2 months to assure that number one my baby was continuously moving (there is a high rate of stillbirth gestation due to high uncontrolled blood sugar levels in pregnancy's like mine) and secondly to assure that she wasn't growing too big, too fast, which she was.
But, things were "under control".
Well at this visit the doctor said to me "Are you feeling contractions?" To which I replied.... "No...", well it wasn't long after, that Sunday as a matter of fact, that I actually started feeling contractions but they were not too bad and I was able to withstand them.
For the next 2 weeks I would feel contractions on and off, some worse than others but "bearable". Come the 2-week mark with contractions {March 24th}, I was feeling weary and very cautious of what I think the doctor should be doing...again..I know what my body and my children want... it's my body and they are my children...right?!
I had called my doctor for 2 weeks, saw my doctor for 2 weeks and every time she told me "Oh yeah, that's natural, you're going to feel them, you're ok...see you on March 30th!"
Thursday; March 24th:
After numerous complaints to my doctors office, much frustration and at this point, doubts of my choice in physician..which will remain un-named...I was angry, tired, in pain and ready to have my baby. Regardless of who else was ready! That morning I went in for my usual weekly monitoring. My blood pressure through the roof and the contractions about 8 to 9 minutes apart and mildly painful at times. Well I was so tired and done with my doctor's office that they could have told me to move or the bus would run me over and JUST to see them squirm, I would have stood there, stared them straight in the face and said "NO, you move." Angry and tired. I was determined to have things MY WAY. The doctor in fetal medicine a much more understanding and gentle but affirming woman of medicine, decided that she wasn't going to let me go one more day like this. She called my doctor, who at this point I think had, had it with my complaining...I couldn't have possibly been her worse patient, my husband claims I could have been....he thinks, I know too much...for my own good. So that day, I think she simply complied with the fetal medicine doctor's second opinion, just to shut me up.
Oh that's not all I think she did but we will get there....
So, 4pm Thursday the fetal medicine doctor stated that "my doctor" thought I should go to the hospital for further monitoring. Well at this point, I had asked for my doctor to see me in a more serious light, and so when she finally did, I wasn't having it. I headed home and proceeded to get ready for what I thought would be my last day home. I didn't arrive to the hospital until 7pm, after which they told me that my doctor had waited 2 hours for me, well I had been waiting for 2 weeks for her. So boo-hoo.
The monitoring and extreme checkup's continued throughout the evening and we were discharged, yes discharged at around midnight. All I could think was, "great". I have to go another week and then some in pain and anxiety. We went home. With antibiotics. Apparently my pain was due to an infection, whatever.
Friday; March 25th:
I had an 11 am appointment with my doctor. I went to it with NO expectations what-so-ever that, that would be the day....would you after 2 weeks!? I even left my hospital bags at home and my son at a nearby Aunt's house. Thinking I'd be right back. The whirlwind of events happened and I was not prepared for things to come at me so fast....
I went in to see the doctor, completely forgetting that they had asked me not to eat "in case my doctor wanted to do my c-section that day"....."yeah right.", I thought and ate breakfast. I saw my doctor, who for a moment seemed un-happy with me, uncomfortable with my pain. Funny. I was her nightmare patient. How sad for her and what a disappointment for me. The appointment took about 15 minutes it was about 11:30am when she asked me how long it would take me to get from her office to the hospital? Apparently "my blood pressure was too high". I was only about 10 minutes away from the hospital. Well she decided right there and then to end my "complaining" for good! She said that even though I had breakfast she was doing my c-section and sent me off to the hospital to get prepped. I know I am just one more number in her bank account and that at that point she is on her schedule not mine or my child's, so I felt very little pity for her and was even angered by her demeanor, how dare she!
But, before I could even get mad...my adventure began...
12:00pm- Arrived and checked in to the hospital for the next hour my body (and mind) would be prepped. Probed and poked, asked too many questions. A quick call from my husband allowed my mindset to prepare..he simply said "Connie. I will be there. Relax. Remain calm." That's all it took...30 minutes seemed eternal. He was on his way. I should do as he said..he is my husband after all. The keeper of my heart, the Father of my children, the person God has chosen to share my life, soul, dreams and Faith with. I took his advice. Despite all the questions; me completely naked under a gown being totally stripped of what I call, my body. I remained as my husband told me to, "calm". Deep breath in, deep breath out. Another needle stick. Some blood drawn, an IV line running and still only 30 minutes had gone by.
12:30pm- My husband arrived. Thank God. A huge deep sigh of relief. He was here. I was not alone. AT NO time was I ever, alone. I know this, but God has given me strength in Him and with Him but also through him..my husband. He is my rock. I knew he'd be praying all the way to the hospital and that I should remain calm so that I too could pray and that our prayers as parents could be heard. We were not alone. This I knew.
For the next 30 minutes, 4 nurses, yes, 4 nurses running around in a frenzy would complete registration and medical preparation for a surgical procedure. As "the doctor" was already waiting for us! It was like a scene from a movie. To the O.R. STAT! No really the surgery should happen at 1pm or so because my doctor had to get to her lunch break and the rest of clinical day as soon as possible. Time is money you know. I know I am being very un-fair and judgmental about my doctor and her stance, but this is how I felt.
1:00pm- Anesthesia walks in and introduces herself. Still calm. Now with my husband by my side. Nothing else mattered. At that time they asked me to take my wedding band and engagement ring off, something I don't do often, I handed them to my husband and he put them away. At around 1:05pm, I was reeled into the O.R., all I heard was "Connie"...and my husband came running after me, he gave me a kiss as I was taken into the OR. One last breath. The next hour was difficult.
I was taken into the O.R. and given my epidural. At that time, everything was numbed from the chest down. I was laid out on a table in that same white plain O.R. room that you see in movies right before the patient closes his eyes and all you hear is a flat-line. Yup. It was that scary. I had been here before but for some reason this time seemed un-real. I was then told that several procedures would be done. A catheter would be placed, not a happy time, my belly would be poked with a sharp object "just to test all was numb", and I would start to feel pressure and touch but no pain. Like a roasted chicken and experimental hamster all at once.....
Hmmmm.
Crazy out of body experience, I think so.
Being that I have read all the books and worked in the medical field, I am very VERY vocal about what I am feeling, how I am feeling and what I FEEL is going wrong. The anesthesiologist, told me I would get the shivers and feel sleepy. That I did. Soon, I felt a tightening in my chest, and shallow slow breaths. ALL I COULD THINK WAS... REMAIN, CALM! Not allowing my brain to panic, I took slow deep breaths, continuously, as the anesthesiologist recommend. I soon saw dark spots before my eyes. And a sudden urge to sleep. But, was too scared. I didn't want to sleep and couldn't close my eyes. I felt that if I did, I may just take my last breath and never see my new baby girl. I started praying and held back tears. All the while the doctor is asking if "I feel ok?", and "is everything ok?", I kept talking to her and talked to myself to ease the anxiety. By this time my husband had entered the room and I knew he would panic if I did. I kept reaching out for his hand and kept looking over for his reassuring smile. Both there EVERY time. At around 1:50pm the first gurgle and attempt to cry of a baby girl....then for minutes, pushing and pulling and tugging apparently my uterus was also upset at the doctor and she didn't want to give Camila up! All the while. My brain and my heart are racing and I remained calm. No panic here, no sir! I couldn't close my eyes. All those bad thoughts of leaving this world and my children and husband on their own, gone. At 1:58pm. "WOW, She's a BIG baby, LOTS of hair!" My husband face. Glee. True love. A Blessing. A HUGE sigh of relief, for several minutes shuffling. The doctors assuring me all was well and that this would be over soon. "8lbs 13oz!" Big baby...the doctor stating "yeah..she's a Diabetic"....my husband came over to me several times to make sure all was well. All the while assuring that baby was ok too. At first glance we both said "She looks like Santiago!"
At that moment it was "HELLO CAMILA!" nothing else felt so right, nothing else felt better.... tears filled my eyes. I could hear the commotion as they prepared her to take her to the nursery. My husband rushed back and forth from her area to mine and then brought her over for me to kiss her..over and over again...
She was here. Thank You Jesus. Thank God. She is HERE! Oh BOY is she here!
In full effect...Little bitty Mama not only has an attitude according to her daddy but also a GREAT set of lungs!
The hours to follow...the days that came after her arrival....all of the emotions of having a beautiful baby girl as a new addition to our already beautiful baby boy....is in the works...
TO BE CONTINUED....
