How to be a Momma to a Girly Girl?

As you may know I am a Momma to a son and then I am Momma to a Girl. GIRL. Did I mention Girl? She is not just any girl; she is "a" girl. Very detail oriented, remembers everything you say and loves her clothes and hair a certain way. If you see me on Social Media you might think... she is just like you! And, yes to some extent I am  a Girly Girl. But, as I have gotten older and become a Momma I have become very tom boyish, plain Jane, and am VERY comfortable with it all.

I don't care to do my hair every day. I no longer sleep with hot rollers and face masks. I should tho. I am happy being frumpy me on most days. But, the comfort makes me forget. I forget that I too loved being girly and that my Cami is just starting to be a girly girl.

Today I will share 5 ways that I will be a Momma to a Girly girl so that she can be herself and learn that we can be beautiful and smart all at once.

::5 ways to be a Momma to a Girly Girl::

1) Paint her Toes~ One of Camila's favorite things is to paint her nails. I am usually busy and rarely get a chance to get pedicures of my own but when I do, it feels amazing. I love feeling pampered, who doesn't right? The other night all Camila wanted was her toes painted. I didn't want to be bothered. I tend to forget how fun and awesome it feels to have someone pamper you. I want my daughter to feel loved and pampered. Because she deserves it and much more! Plus she will learn that all of her hard work deserves some relaxing and treating yourself.

2) Give her Space~ Giving Camila her own space and allowing her to be herself gives her confidence and strength. I love that she knows exactly what she loves. Yes she is only 4 but trust me she is very good at knowing what she loves; these days it's lip gloss and nail polish. She has true collections and is very proud of them. I don't ever want to stop her from being herself. I know plenty of beautiful Makeup Artist and women who look amazing and are CEO's.  Camila will choose who she wants to be and I want to give her that space but with guidance.

3) Let her Dress herself~ A great way that Camila shows individuality is in dressing herself. Trust me most days she does a lot better than I would. Often my Husband says I won't be able to afford her, but my number one priority will be to teach my daughter to work hard and be able to afford herself. It's an example that I had growing up, my Momma was independent and I have been as well. My Sister and I own what we have because we bought it. No need to be dependent on others for stuff.  A little strong for a 4 year old? Yep. It is but she definitely needs to learn it.

4) She can be  Princess whenever she wants~ She is 4, reality is years away. I want my child to be a child. That means if she wakes up and feels her inner Princess shinning on any given day, she should be able to be a PRINCESS darnit! She is in our home. We love her. While we want her to constantly learn value, morals and self-esteem we also want her to be a child and enjoy life. With or without her crown.

5) Give her attention~ I want to genuinely give her my time and attention. Some days are difficult but the more time that I can give her the better she will communicate with me. She loves to talk. I will learn to listen, always. She is one of the loves of my life and she deserve all of my time and attention. Her and her brother have a lot of patience for me and my writing in return I like to think that I can be patient with them and what they need. Camila is so loving, she loves to spend time with me and I love her so much. I want to always show her that I care and listen. Communication will be essential in later years.

#ad Rose & Rhodes Clothing ::Shop Review::

::Momma Disclosure:: { This is not a compensated post. I received a clothing item from Rose and Rhodes Clothing in exchange for this review. All statements are my own and my true and honest opinion.}

I love finding new shops where I can obtain affordable and cute clothing for my little girl. When the shops have colorful and playful items as well as a good variety; it makes it easier for me to fall in love with it. This was the case with Rose and Rhodes Clothing who right now has the cutest Swim Suits for the Summer! I received the cutest, two piece outfit which I used as a Swim Suit cover up when we went to the pool last weekend. Perfect for pool parties and these warm Summer nights!

The shop is owned by two hardworking and very inspiring Momma's which just makes it so much easier to relate and find what you need. Find out more about them and how the idea for their shop came to be as well as how you can get all of their items for your Summer events!

Hello Everyone!

We are Yvette Perez and Beatriz (Bea) Garza, proud owners of Rose and Rhodes Clothing.  We are two cousins that grew up together in the Valley.  They used to say that we were "joined at the hip".  Bea and I decided to open Rose and Rhodes Clothing because we fell in love with children's clothing.  I, Yvette, had my daughter in 2009 and my son in 2012.  The idea of opening up a children's boutique was always there but I didn't know how to move forward.  Bea had her daughter in 2012 and it seemed natural to join forces and get the boutique up and running.

We opened up Rose and Rhodes Clothing to cater to moms with small children looking for a good deal.  I know that sometimes boutique clothing can be very expensive so our motto is, "Adorable Clothing at an Affordable Price".  Our motivation comes from our children.  They motivate us on a daily basis to do better and to work harder.

Bea and I both have Bachelor's Degrees.  I have a degree in Business Finance and she has her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters in Counseling.  She is currently a teacher at a local Elementary in Mission, Texas.

We don't personally make our products and while we would love to always organize and promote our inventory in peace and quiet, the reality is that we usually do it with screams and babbles of our children in the background.  Of course, we wouldn't change it for anything.  It is the reason why we opened an online boutique and not a brick and mortar shop.

There are so many ways to contact us.  I think the best way is to send a personal message through Facebook because if I don't see it, Bea will.  You can also contact us by email at RoseandRhodesClothing@gmail.com.

We also have a blog on our boutique website at www.RoseandRhodesClothing.com.  It features items that we like best for the month.

We like to remember that "Each river must flow at it's own pace." and to simply "BE HAPPY!"

Currently Rose and Rhodes Clothing is trying to reach 1,500 "Likes" on their ::FACEBOOK FAN PAGE:: We can help them reach their goal! Click on their link and hit "LIKE"...You will not be disappointed.

{Honestly}

Let me be brutally honest about some brutal truth today.

The baby days of ohhh-ing and ahhh-ing are long gone in my house, it takes some time to realize it and accept it. These days the chaos reigns in my casa! I have a Two-&-8month old {My almost 3 year old} and a 15 month old {My Soon to be 2 year old}, yep. Your math is right, TWO terrible ever so "AH" TWO's in the mix.

Trust me. I love my kids. I do everything I do for my kids. I live for them. But, this stage of their lives, the "TWO's" it transforms them into these tiny rebel beings who have no regard for the pain and embarrassment that this Momma goes through when one of the TWO's is jumping from one chair to another AT.THE.DR'S.OFFICE  with hash brown on their face while the other crawls underneath the said chairs and growls at the other kids, we won't point any fingers here. And, I am sorry BUT that is the TRU'F!

I don't lie. My two Beautiful Little Angels have alter egos and trust me not even their Momma recognizes them.....

I don't hide, or try to run from it, I embrace it. One.single.deep.breath.after.another. It's not easy but it is what it is.... two, terrible two-ers!

I don't like to get into the mind set of "Oh poor me!" or "I deserve a break!" cause who doesn't but I do voice my pain and fatigue to the Hubby who will then say...."ok" and step in.

So, tonight. With NO Momma guilt what.so.ever. This Momma stepped out.... of the chaotic casa and went to dinner and a movie! With the muchachas! Yup. With the Hubby's not so little cousins... and yes...we LOVED and enjoyed ever minute of it... and YES more than once during the night the conversations turned towards Cami and Santi! The TWO rebel beings that take over my world by day and then conquer my heart by night... I can't help it and I am a Momma after all!

{On relationships....}

A healthy relationship begins with a healthy individual. I think.

There are times when one must seek true alone time and think about who we are, what we want and where we will go...in order to understand where we want to go as an individual. So, I imagine that in order to be in a relationship with the opposite sex or a friendship, far more seeking is required...even as time goes by.

I tend to escape from the real world and into my heart {with God}; often. My friends know. If they don't hear from me for a while, it's cause God is busy. I like to know where I want my friendships to go. As for my Marriage, that's a whole other post, which I attended a conference for recently, I love that relationship and the places that God has taken us.

I am writing about this as a reflection of where the last year and even the last 5 months have taken my relationships. New trust. New faith. New Hope. New friends. New friendships. Old friendships in a new light and in a new form of love and respect. Just perspective being gained and light being shed. Truth being told and upheld.

Friendship is about healthy boundaries being constantly built. New relationships growing in foundation and strengthening in life. You look to these people for support and to build you up. You seek their approval and gain their trust. It's important to be a strong and healthy minded individual, conscious and individually growing in order to form life long lasting friendships that you can learn from.

For years I prayed for Godly women to enter my life. These days I can honestly say that these Women are all a part of my life on a daily basis in different ways. I am Blessed.

Friends are awesome!

On confidence. Or lack thereof....

Ever since I can remember I have been a very confident person with high self-esteem. That area of my life has never been an issue whether I am a size 2 or a size 14. My smile says it all.

I was never the prettiest, or the smartest, or the tallest, or the most talented. But, I didn't care. I walked with my head high and my shoulders straight.

Then life happened. Last year I turned 30. I felt AMAZING. These days. The 30 syndrome is hitting me.I will be 31, 31. No longer 25 and so far from 18. I have felt not so very confident, as I have in the past. Time has settled on me. I have lived a full life, I think. Family, friends, Marriage, Travel, Education and now Children and Future. And well; my mind, soul and body reflect that. I have had DOS amazing little babies! Life just becomes so LIFE filled. The days need more hours and the hours cry for more minutes. Let's just say I have not been doing the Pretty Girl Rock! at all latley. HA.

"My name is Connie, I am so very...." Ha.

Then this morning it hit me. How am I suppose to raise an amazing daughter with an amazing smile and crazy amounts of self-confidence if her Momma don't have it? Well, I retract. I am thinking back to those days when life was confident and I didn't doubt who I was or who I would become. Those days when I knew the wind would eventually blow in the right direction. To those days when life was about happiness and faith. No need to wear fancy jeans and do my make up, just wake up and go on about my day.

I want my daughter to know that she can be and do whatever she wants and that the way you look and how others see you comes from one place...that place is within us. Our own faith. Our own confidence. Our own glow and light.

God has placed that light in our hearts...it's up to us to keep it lit!

LIGHT IT UP! LIGHT IT UP!

This little light of mine...

SHINE. BRIGHT. SHINE BRIGHT .
