::Marigold Couture:: Spring Dress for All Occasions

:: Momma Disclosure:: This is a sponsored post in collaboration with Marigold Couture, but all opinions are true and my own opinion.

Spring is here and sometimes as a Momma to one very girly girl it's overwhelming to enter department stores to find something both Camila and I love. When it comes to dressing Camila I am often torn between keeping her in "in-style" and allowing her to be herself. But, when it comes to fun, appropriate and comfortable clothes, I trust Camila and her own personal style. She is above all very girly and while I might have to stop her sometimes from walking outside in some kind of Disney Princess dress or her pajamas, she is always very modest and appropriate.

I want Camila to always be herself, that's foremost. I want Camila to be fun and happy. I love that she is so comfortable and confident in her own skin.

I think that the styles brought forth by Marigold Couture help capture all the fun and innocence that a 6-year-old can portray. I love the beautiful hand-crafted dresses. I love the unique prints and very age appropriate styles. The dresses they make are great for all occasions; formal, casual and every day. This past weekend we celebrated Easter and Camila's new dress was so great for church but it's also one I can see her wearing to school or to a friends birthday party.

I loved the details like the neckline ruffle and the waistline ribbon, the colors, and print on this butterfly dress was so perfect for our Spring season celebrations. Camila loves her new dress but was also very free to be herself.  That's what I loved about it.

::Sponsored:: JORD Watch & Giveaway #SummerAccessories

Momma Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

Time.

It's said that, "time is of the essence", such a true statement. Time also always seems to be lacking. We never have enough of it. But, this Summer even though it has already gone by too fast, it was one where, my family and I purposely took the time to slow down and take it all in. To enjoy one another and seek time to relax. I feel we did just that. I am proud of us and our ability to relax this Summer because we never really seem to have the time!

Enter JORD and their creative watches into my time piece. When I am in the middle of the hustle and bustle I rarely look at a clock. And, with all the technology these days, I often forget how beautiful watches can be. When I first discovered wood watches, I thought, they are beautiful. So unique yet classic.

Jord watches has some of the most unique wood watches I have seen. The colors, the styles and very cool pairing of something so classic and sleek with the modern styles. I love their women's watches of course, but their selection is endless. For me it's important to have something that is functional for a working Momma who is constantly on the go as well as something that will look pretty and fit my style. When I picked my watch for this post I thought about all things girly. I am not usually a very fashionable person but I love nice accessories and items to wear when I get a chance to dress up!

Now! Get your very own wrist watch with JORD! Their styles are very versatile and they carry more than just watches for women. Their unique watches for men are also very nice and would be very cool gifts for any upcoming birthday's or anniversaries!

::Back to School | In Style:: Yvonne - Guest Houston Latina Blogger

**This is a guest post provided by a fellow Houston Latina Blogger**

School kicked off yesterday and all over you can hear the cries of chaos as parents rush to get everything ready for the new school year.  Everywhere you go you see “Back to School” sales with the promise of saving you money in the most fashionable way. I’m all about the money saving but truth be told when it comes to fashion we become a little limited because Hailey Bear’s school requires her to wear a uniform or we are limited by the “dress code”. Trust me I get the love behind having to follow a dress code – you get to buy a bunch of polo style shirts and dresses, a few khaki/Navy blue pants and you just throw it into a rotating cycle and watch the school days go by!!

Where is the fun in that? Yes, yes I know mornings are busy and crazy and whether you are a SAHM or a working mom like me, you might feel like you don’t have time for fun and fashion. Unless you make it easy – so hear me out and maybe after a few tricks and tips you can make uniform a little more fashionable.

Hailey hates the standard khaki pants and she also hates stiff jeans (don’t we all?) so I am always on the lookout for jeggings in different colors like these or these from Crazy 8. I also found this color at Crazy 8 and little bear loved them plus they are tons comfortable and really soft.

I do end up buying polo style dresses for Hailey but I also look for an alternative, the catch is that her dresses have to have a collar and sleeves so I was super happy when I came across this little dress at H&M, we also bought it in a black and white plaid like this. Super cute dress and she loved everything about it.

So, in the end I find just a few pieces that I can put into the rotation of her uniform and make it a little more fun and not so super boring without breaking the rules. I really love buying her plaid button downs when it gets cold out and tights with different patterns for the winter.

Another quick-tip to making the morning rush just a little bit easier takes a little work beforehand but it helps out a great deal during the weekday rush! I simply split little bear’s closet into two sections on one side I hang all her regular clothes and on the other I hang all her school clothes. This makes it quick and easy to see what I’m working with during the week and it cuts down on hunting down the “school clothes”.

Also as a plus my husband always knows what’s what and where he can find it!

About Yvonne:

I’m just a girl that turned into a wife, momma, and blogger! I live every day knowing that thanks to my Faith I have made it this far and when times get tough it’s easy to lean into Faith but harder still is to know that everyday my Faith carries me forward. Of course with a daily dose of coffee to wake me up and always surrounded by the ones I love, my husband of 7 years, my 19 year old giant and my 6 year old little bear. I also survive by finding peace in my garage with power tools building and creating whatever DIY project comes along the way! My life can get a little crazy but everyday my little family and I make while we run our lives in Faith, with a little bit of coffee and a whole lotta love!

::Original Wear Clothing:: Travels to the Valley

::Momma Disclosure:: { This is a compensated post. All statements are my own and my true and honest opinion.}

One of my favorite Texas shops abroad is Original Wear Clothing for several reason; Myriam the owner is a High School friend and finding her via Facebook over 10 years after we graduated to learn about her adventures and success has been wonderful! Not only is her story fascinating; which is always my favorite part of local shops, getting to know how they were created and founded then there are her store items, they are amazing. If you have not visited her online shop, you should. Her sense of style is very unique and is kind of Texas boho meets Spanish Chic. I love it all. I love her accessories and those small detailed clutches.

For this review, she sent  several of us over at Houston Latina Bloggers the above box with a bonus which I will talk about below, it was awesome to open! I loved the personalization that Myriam took the time to do. She is always very cheerful and giving, much like her beautiful items! The colors and  quality in her leather goods and clothing is what keeps me attracted to her brand.

In picture, which I think she is running out of.... soon, are the Moroccan Leather Wristlet- https://shop.originalwearclothing.com/collections/the-moroccan-collection/products/wallets
and, one of my personal favorites the Slice of Heaven Cuff- https://shop.originalwearclothing.com/products/slice-of-heaven

Since Myriam and I grew up in South Texas, I thought it would be most appropriate to take my items with me on my recent visit back home and do a mini-photo shoot while on my trip! My Husband who tries to be helpful and supportive was funny enough to take the following pictures of me. If I am smiling really big, it's because he makes me laugh a lot.  I wore the wristlet everywhere I went because it was small and still very spacious for all the things I really needed!

You can see all of Myriam's new items over on her website: https://shop.originalwearclothing.com/
Pictures were taken in McAllen, Texas at the Quinta Mazatlan by my Hubby and myself.

As you can see, the wristlet is fairly small but a good travel size, great for carrying around just the right amount of items while out and about. And, it really does go with just about anything. Everyone who saw it asked me about it and loved it. I even purchased one to gift to my Cousin's wife who hosted us for the weekend, so it's also a good personalized gift for all fashion lovers!

The bonus item that Myriam included was an original leather cuff created by another South Texas Artist, Mitch D'arte, you can see all of her creations here: https://www.facebook.com/UnoByMitch/

::Original Wear:: Product Review

::Momma Disclosure:: { This is a compensated post. All statements are my own and my true and honest opinion.}

Last week I posted about Original Wear Clothing shop, this week I received my products from the owner, Myriam. I couldn't be happier with them. As a Momma I rarely treat myself to anything. These three pieces were gifted by the shop. I instantly fell in love and knew that I wanted to take good picture to do them some justice. The leather and quality is everything to me. I am not a super flashy person so the neutral colors were nice.

I received the following 3 pieces from Original Wear

& a small hand purse from their Vida Collection

Outfit: Shirt, Acid Wash jeans {my FAV!} and the gold flats. From NYC.
Pictures of me were taken by my good friend Ari of 3TwentySix.

::Flower to Flower:: #ShopReview

One of our biggest passions as girls in our home is fashion. Especially Camila. Trust me I have become girlier and more fashion conscious because of her. I know that other Momma's have the same passion because they have even began their own business centered around girl, or children's fashion. Today on the blog- Flower to Flower

{The dress that Camila is wearing in the picture below is from the Flower to Flower shop.}

::Meet Jazmin-Momma, Entrepreneur and Owner of Flower to Flower::

My name is Jazmin. I am currently a SAHM to a 5 year old Son that loves singing and baseball and a 1 year old Daughter that is fascinated with everything around her and loves smiling at everyone and anything. In my day to day you can find me in the kitchen experimenting with dishes from other countries and especially from my home country, Mexico. I wish I had friends from each country so they an teach more of their cuisines, I'm interested in anything and everything in Arts and Fine Arts. Reason why I got a degree in Filmmaking and I love helping in any DIY projects.

Are you bilingual and what is your favorite saying or motto?

Si lo soy! Orgullosamente Mexicana!!! I find myself saying this saying the most "Para todos ahi sol" which mean "Their is a sun for everyone" also "God gives us the best opportunities dressed as challenges" which means "Dios nos da las mejores oportunidades disfrazadas de retos"
What is your routine while creating items for your shop?

I love searching through our pieces while I listen to mellow music like Carla Morrison while my Daughter naps or is sitting in my leg taking out all my pens and highlighters from the cup holder.

What Motivates you?

Since the birth of my Daughter I've rediscovered my passion for fashion through my human doll aka My Daughter Rose. I found an opportunity to share a bit of the clothing that my daughter herself dresses with and share it with parents alike myself that want to dress their children fashionable without breaking the bank. We are trying to offered clothing you have picked in your dream closet for them and pinned in Pinterest.

Fun Details about Jazmin:

I've found a love for thrift store shopping and up-cycling adult clothing to little people clothing. I can sit down in the couch with a cup of Agua de Jamaica (Hibiscus Tea) and sew my life away while I watch Netflix. Favorite series thus far is between Scandal and Mad Men. Also I started a small little garden in white pots I've been collecting. It's been fun seeing my 5 year old talk to be how the circle of life works with plants and the seeing both kids enjoying watering the plants.

::What I Wore Wednesday:: Momma Style

If you know me then you know; number one..I am not a fancy person. And, number dos {2}, I have become very frugal and rarely like to "splurge" on myself. A couple of months ago, I was given a NYC credit card ::insert gasps here:: Since then, I have gotten a few necessary pieces here and there.

As needed.

New York and Company is one of my favorite stores.

Another favorite store of mine is Target. And, as Taraji mentioned, she too wears Target she just blings it up. I am usually not super "blinged" out but I do love accessories, it's probably the girliest I am. I also love the color black and then dressing it up. I had an important lunch to go to that day {you can read about it here}.  That day I started off with an all black outfit and decided to add some accessories.

Here is what I had on, it was simple I liked it but I knew something was missing. {Follow me on Instagram

I quickly found myself at the mall before my lunch that day, a rare occurrence for this Momma, and ended up buying the following:

A purse, silver necklace and shimmery stockings from New York and Company.

Winged Faux-Leather Tote Bag- It's such a great size. I placed my camera, wallet and phone in it. It was perfect for a carrying bag that afternoon.

Silver necklace- They have so many great items in the store! They are usually on sale and you can buy one and get one half off. I love their jewelry. I own a lot of it.

Shimmery Stockings {Medium Heather Grey}- I usually wear black stockings but this day I wanted to add some shine to my outfit. I was walking to the register and I found the best very light shimmer stockings, on sale!

I then scooted over to Target, of course. There I found the PERFECT pair of glossy black pumps. Also, very inexpensive. Perfect height for work and outings. The Merona Melanie Heels.

Final outfit looked a little like this:

{Sam Moon} The Accessory Post & Giveaway!

So, I attended the LATISM Conference last week!! Still in disbelief...it was a true Blessing! It was awesome, see for yourself...HERE AND HERE!

One dilemma that I had was dress code. Being a "Rookie Conference attendant"... I didn't know what, where, who and when...I ended up asking my awesome Bloggy  Momma friend from Vegas over at ::DESUMAMA:: Vane, how formal she thought I should be...she said one thing that stuck in my mind the whole time...."be comfortable but with style"... and once I got her message she made me  feel a lot more at ease as I picked out what I would wear....none of which really came through in my pictures...but oh well!  Ha. I digress.

Moving on..Ha. I used to get all my accessories at New York & Company. These days this Momma is on a budget.....So, I explore and I find...

I have been to Sam Moon here in Houston many a times but never realized how cheap and CUTE everything is!

Last week for the conference, I needed a little updated, more modern, very ME kind of look. So, I resorted to accessories. I had been here before and then stumbled upon some new favs. Now it's totally going to be my store...

The Pink card holder was a hard case wallet organizer thingy $8.00 but I pulled out the accrodian like inside and used it to hold my cards..which I gave out for the first time at the conferece! Ha.

The skulls, I totally fell in LOVE with all under $4.00!!! The leaf, reminded me of Hunger Games..not my fave movie but it was super cute! I don't think I spent more than 20 bucks! It was a stylish steal, I think! Ha.

And, since I have finally made it to the Post-Office and everything I had to mail has been mailed ::insert excitement here:: then I can do this....::insert the price is right game show music here::  Bloggy Reader COME ON DOWN!!!! I will be selecting a winner for the Black Skull necklace shown above and below..Ha.... to enter leave a comment below with your name and your blog {if you have one} and tell us HOW MUCH YOU THINK IT WAS!!!! Simple!? Sure!!! I will announce a winner next week... you have until noon tomorrow {Saturday; November 3rd, 2012} to enter! If you for some reason can't leave a message below then do so on the post about this Giveaway on my FB page. Tell your friends!

Have fun...and GOOD LUCK!!!

Have a GREAT weekend ya'll!!!
