::A Book about Rules & a Motivational Mug:: #KickAss

Last week seemed to get better by the days, it was almost like our PR reps knew we were gonna be home all week! Our second product was another book, this one was one about rules. Ian is a rule follower and his Sister Jenny, not so much. We loved it, the book teaches the importance of yes, following rules but knowing when to bend the rules. Even if it means telling lies to save your Sister from a giant tub with teeth, an angry furnace, and a bear rug! Ha. Bizzare. Not if you follow the rules. It came with the cutest toothbrush holder and a white erase board to write our own house rules down. 

The kids did a great job at listing our usual rules. Camila tried to help me write it all down. Rules of the House comes out May 3rd, you will want to buy it for your collection. Because we all know...rules are meant to be.... followed! 

By the end of the week, I had received this beautiful motivational mug I purchased from Bliss on Main, a great local shop. It will definitely be my morning go to mug when I need that extra pick me up!  We all need that little reminder to Kick Ass every now and again. 

And finally, this past weekend we received the deliciously fresh Tekeen, a "premium line of cocktails made with agave nectar, orange wine and natural flavors for an exotic and fresh taste." My favorite part about this drink is that it's made in Texas. If you know me you should know that I love supporting local or Texas created products. Who else knows Tejanos better than a native Tejana. Full review next week. All I can say now is that it smells so sweet and light, I can't wait to make some fruity drinks with this liquor and share my creations with you!

I love shop reviews. I love personalized items. Without a doubt this so far has been one of my favorites! I love my new tumblers with my pretty little blog name on them! Excitement!

::Who I am::

My name is Celenne Gomez and I am the owner of Designs by Celenne. I sell an assortment of personalized items including; shot glasses for bachelorette parties, weddings and birthdays. I have recently expanded to personalizing acrylic tumblers, jewelry dishes, and wine glasses. I also make custom centerpieces for quinceanera's and birthday parties upon request.

::How I started::

For as long as I can remember, I've always told my mom I wanted to be an elementary school teacher when I grew up and that I would one day own a boutique. My mom is a very creative person and has always motivated me to be creative and think outside the box. In high school my mom and I stayed up late to make my own homecoming mums. When I was getting married and I couldn't find the right centerpieces my mom gave me the idea to make them myself. That put everything in motion for Designs by Celenne. My mom and husband have been my biggest supporters since the beginning and would always tell me I could create things to sell. 7 months later, with the full support of my husband, I quit my full time job to return to school full time to pursue my bachelors in Education. 

And, Designs by Celenne is allowing me to be able to continue my education and has opened many  new doors for me in the business world.

::A little fun details about me:: 

How I keep motivated while working on my designs.... I have Pandora saved as my home page for my internet so as soon as I turn on my computer I open the internet browser and the music gets me in my work zone. The great thing is I love what I do and I'd rather be in my office creating new ideas or working on current orders than watching TV, even on my off hours. 

This past summer I went fishing for the first time and I loved it!!! I will definitely be making time to go again!!

I am Bilingual. And,one of my favorite sayings is one that my mom would tell me all the time growing up....

I will admit as a Momma it's hard to keep up with all the great new beauty products sometimes! So, I asked the Beautiful and very talented Tracy from TeeWii to help us put a list together of her TOP 10 favorite Summer Beauty products!

1. Josie Maran Argon Infinity Cream

You can use this miracle balm on everything from dry lips and elbows, to soothing razor burn or taming fly aways. You can also add it to cheek bones for a healthy glow, which is perfect for summer.

2. Shea Moisture, Coconut and Hibiscus Hand and Body Scrub

Being in a bikini all summer means extra maintenance on our lady parts; which can cause razor burn or post wax irritation. I recently discovered Good To Go Top Coat and it is a miracle worker! You know when you paint your nails late at night or right before you run out the door, then you get those little dents and lines? Give your Fiji nail polish 5 minutes to dry, smack a coat of Good To Go on and your nails will be perfection!

8. Wella Ocean Spritz

You don't have to go to the beach for perfect tousled waves! Wrap sections of air dried hair around a curling rod and spray with Ocean Spritz to create the perfect beach bunny waves.

9. Mountain Ocean Skin Trip (Coconut)

This lotion is amazing! It’s blended with Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera, and Lanolin which makes it perfect for soothing sun-kissed skin or applying after a shower. This is also a great belly lotion for mamas-to-be.

Flu Season Control #Staples #StaplesFluKit

It's "Winter". Which for most Houstonians means, crazy weather. One day cold, one day hot sometimes both all within hours. Today it's cold! A nice 29 degrees, I know most states are laughing at us but it's Houston we are not that use to it. Who knows what tomorrow may hold {only because I don't keep track of the weather.} What I do know is that for about 2 months now I have been sick, a lot and so have many around me including my family.

Started with a sore throat, by Thanksgiving a full on upper respiratory infection. And, ever since then it's been constant congestion, snotty nose, and an achy cough. Yep. Flu season is in full effect. Not sure what kind of germs are flying around but working in small areas and living with two toddlers you can never be too prepared.

Thankfully Staples has all you need this flu season to help not only prevent the spread of icky germs but keep those germs from spreading once you have been attacked by every symptom possible. I always say that the most difficult place to start is at home but it's where most germs travel to and from.

First off, I owe an apology!

I was suppose to do a Valentine's Day series about the special men in our lives but I just didn't get it together in time. Instead, I linked up HERE and entered a mini-Valentine's Day series with my sweet Bloggy-Momma, Salena, over at A Little Piece of Me. Therefore, I am sorry but I will think of something in the months to come... so stay tuned!

This year is extra nice and extra special as Team Gomez has a new Valentine {CamNoodles} to celebrate this LOVE fest of a day with!

Every year I would blah over the other girls Valentine's Day; what they got, where they went to dinner and how special their day was. Then I met my Husband. He is of a different breed. He never really celebrated much and then slowly started to because of me. Then I felt bad for forcing these "special days" on him and thought..everyday should be special and love filled..and they are, and they have been, and they will be. So, I slowly let go of what society wanted me to think a celebration of Love should be and quickly created our own special days with our own little love days. In and around Valentine's Day!

This is more true now that ever, with my Dos little angels we want everyday to be filled with love and faith. Realistically it's filled with chaos and very loud tantrums, but idealistically we are all peachy and cotton candy. We love one another and attempt everyday to show one another our love. God has Blessed us greatly. I would have never imagined this to be my life... ever.
