::HallYu Cosmetics:: Intro to Korean Beauty Products

Most my post these days begin with "so I turned 35" and it's not because I want to bug anyone or remind people how old I am. The reason is, that 35 unlike 20, 25, & 30, 35 has felt diffident. A little more "laissez-faire" if you will but very focused. I just really want to change certain things about me and my habits, if you read my list of things I plan on doing more  , one  of those items was taking care of my skin.

I have always had several skin issues, numerous prescribed medications and small cosmetic procedures to eliminate acne. At 35 I want to be as natural as possible about my skin and it's healing if you will. I don't want to rely on medication and I know that the foods I eat and drinking more water both have high effects on this. I have started to drink more water, the food, though... let's get back to that later.

And, just like most things a new collaboration opportunity came up just as I planned to create a new skin regime for myself. Enter HallYu Cosmetics into my life. I am very thankful because they have created a new awareness in me of the importance of regime and taking care of my skin. If you have never heard of them or visited their shop, I highly recommend you do both.

"HallYu (한류) is defined as wave of Korean influence spreading globally attributed to the popularity of Korean entertainment and music. Now Korean beauty products are entering the same recognition and popularity by offering amazing, fun products at remarkably reasonable price points. This is where HallYu Cosmetics enters the story........... We as a company strive to bring entire product lines and selectively chosen niche brands directly from South Korea."

The amount of energy and research that has gone into Korean cosmetics and beauty products is evident from the moment you walk in their shop. From the sleek and very clean environment of the shop to the extensive line of products. Everything is just perfect.  Now, for those fashion, beauty, and make-up expert who are obviously knowledgeable about this, none of it may come to you as a surprise. But, for myself, someone who knows, little to nothing about beauty this new world of skin care and products has opened up my eyes to all the wonderful options out there.

I am a full-time outside the home employee, a Momma of two very busy and active children, and a wife/homemaker. My schedule usually runs very tight from as early as 5:30 am (depending on what level of professional I have to look that day) until about midnight or later when my day finally comes to an end. I am also almost always on a very strict budget filled with house and car notes, bills, daycare payments, food and everything in-between. What does this mean? I have very little time and limited resources. When I told Anton, one of the partners at HallYu, that I needed a regimen that was fast, easy and inexpensive; he quickly put his thinking hat on and created one that was perfect for me.

He explained that Korean beauty involves very details steps and that for the most part, the cost has no limit. But, he was also very understanding of who I am and his knowledge catered to my needs as a busy Momma who still wants to look good and improve skin conditions at an inexpensive cost. Because we live in Texas and the weather has many effects on my skin, I also have that factor against me.  But, again the shop is created to cater to all needs, skin type and wallet size which is perfect!

Come back next week when I will explain and share what Anton recommended and how much I am loving it!

::CHI Houston Latina Bloggers Event Recap::

::Momma Disclosure:: This is a sponsored post in collaboration with Farouk Systems & Lopez Marketing. All opinions and statements are my own.

When I used to think of CHI, I thought of, obviously;  my curly "untamable" mane, a long-standing reputation and great smelling products. Now, when I think about it, I think about community, a commitment to quality and reinvention that fits the time. Houston Latina Bloggers were invited to take a tour and learn all about Farouk Systems as well as meet the CEO of CHI, Basim Shami, son of Farouk Shami. I didn't know how inspiring the moment would be but I truly felt an instant connection with the brand's purpose and future goals.

The facility aside from being fully equipped to produce high-end, eco-friendly products is also almost fully staffed by Latinos. That alone makes me feel a wonderful sense of belonging. Farouk Systems recognizes the hard work and dedication of the Latino community which led to the company cutting any ties to Donald Trump, which is definitely admirable. That paired with Farouk systems involvement in education created a new-found inspiration to continue to support the company and their products.

Not only was I in awe of their efficient production line, their passion for education and the Latino community but also their constant commitment to creating new products. Their upcoming lines promise to be different and just as great as everything they produce now. We received a sneak peek at these products, how they plan to bring them out over the next year or so and how each product was created. Wish I could share more but I can't so follow CHI and their social media sites for all the upcoming reveals and products lines.

The event was filled with so much information, so many goodies, a great lunch and, of course, silly moments where we were able to see the behind the scenes of all things CHI. It was an amazing experience and am happy that our group was selected to attend. I have since opened all my products and began exploring items that I didn't know they had such as the tea tree oil products. As well as items I have never tried like the dry shampoo, which is my new favorite item. You can read all about these items on their site:

Summer Health & Beauty Products ::Top 10::

I will admit as a Momma it's hard to keep up with all the great new beauty products sometimes! So, I asked the Beautiful and very talented Tracy from TeeWii to help us put a list together of her TOP 10 favorite Summer Beauty products!

I met Tracy at the Ford Trend Conference in Detroit last month little did I know that soon we would be collaborating! For more fun reviews and awesome ::DIY:: videos visit TeeWii on Facebook and Pintrest

::Here is what she came up with::

Summer is my favorite time of year; I love to get a healthy tan and keep my beauty routine fresh and natural. Here are the 10 summer beauty products I cant live without!

1. Josie Maran Argon Infinity Cream

You can use this miracle balm on everything from dry lips and elbows, to soothing razor burn or taming fly aways. You can also add it to cheek bones for a healthy glow, which is perfect for summer.

2. Shea Moisture, Coconut and Hibiscus Hand and Body Scrub

The Target beauty section never does me wrong! Shea Moisture's Coconut & Hibiscus Hand & Body Scrub is a moisturizing sugar scrub that exfoliates and nourishes while leaving skin firm and toned. This is great to use before a spray tan or once a week to keep your skin fresh and glowing.

3. Kiehl’s Nashi Blossom and Pink Grapefruit Body Mist

This bright, citrusy scent screams summertime date! It’s refreshing, light and perfectly feminine. I guarantee you’ll have people ask what you're wearing everywhere you go!

4. Pureology Strength Cure Split End Salve

Our hair takes a beating this time of year, and I have yet to find a product that repairs my ends like Pureology. Apply one pump to ends before drying and sport shiny locks all summer long!

5. Whish Post Wax and Shave Serum

Being in a bikini all summer means extra maintenance on our lady parts; which can cause razor burn or post wax irritation. I’m not embarrassed to say that I use this cream after every bikini line shave. Nothing is worse than hitting the pool or beach with razor bumps, and this all natural formula will prevent that. It also fights off ingrown hairs which is an added bonus!

6. Eraclea Ever-Moist

I’ve been battling dry lips for years and I can tell you from experience that this product is the best! Ever-Moist is great on its on or applied (lightly) over lipstick. This is a must have for your beach bag, purse and suitcase! A tube costs $16, which may SEEM like a lot- but one tube will last you half the year, you don't need much.

7. Essie Fiji and Good To Go Top Coat

Theres a reason why Fiji is an Essie fan favorite. This shade is my go-to for summer! It looks great on any skin tone and coordinates with your entire wardrobe. I recently discovered Good To Go Top Coat and it is a miracle worker! You know when you paint your nails late at night or right before you run out the door, then you get those little dents and lines? Give your Fiji nail polish 5 minutes to dry, smack a coat of Good To Go on and your nails will be perfection!

8. Wella Ocean Spritz

You don't have to go to the beach for perfect tousled waves! Wrap sections of air dried hair around a curling rod and spray with Ocean Spritz to create the perfect beach bunny waves.

9. Mountain Ocean Skin Trip (Coconut)

This lotion is amazing! It’s blended with Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera, and Lanolin which makes it perfect for soothing sun-kissed skin or applying after a shower. This is also a great belly lotion for mamas-to-be.

10. Beauty Society Making Shade SPF 30

This sunscreen is a little pricey, but it’s worth every penny. It’s light, gentle and wont clog your pores.

What about you, what are some of your favorite beauty products right now?
